Hands-On Workshops

Practical additive manufacturing and 3D CAD training for schools, engineering colleges, and young innovators across Pune. Want a custom session plan for your batch? Message us on WhatsApp.

Engineering College Bootcamp (4 Hours)

Designed for 1st and 2nd-year engineering students. Covers FDM fundamentals, parametric modeling in Fusion 360, Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) rules, slicing, and post-processing.

School STEM & Young Innovators Lab

Interactive sessions for Grades 6–12 and Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL). Students see a live 3D printer in action, learn how digital designs become real parts, and explore real-world engineering uses.

Custom Printer Hardware & CAD Mentoring

Deep-dive mentoring on custom 3D printer architecture, electronics & firmware, converting legacy mesh/2D data into solid CAD, and prototyping functional enclosures.

Curriculum & Workshop Details

Everything covered in our sessions and how to schedule a workshop at your school, college, or society in Pune.

  • What is covered in Hour 1: 3D Printing & Additive Manufacturing Fundamentals?

We introduce how additive manufacturing builds parts layer by layer compared to traditional subtractive machining. Students learn the core mechanics of FDM 3D printers (motion systems, extruders, hotends, and build plates) and how to choose the right material—such as PLA, PETG, ABS, or TPU—based on strength, heat resistance, and application.

  • Students follow a live parametric modeling workflow in Autodesk Fusion 360 to turn a 2D sketch into a 3D solid component. We focus heavily on practical Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) guidelines—including overhang angles, bridging limits, minimum wall thickness, hole/shaft clearance tolerances, and orienting parts for maximum mechanical strength.

  • A 3D model cannot be printed without proper slicing. We walk through exporting STEP/STL files into modern slicing software, configuring layer heights, wall perimeters, infill patterns (such as Gyroid and Grid), and support structures, and diagnosing common print failures like warping, stringing, and layer shifting.

  • Students experience a live high-speed 3D printer running in the classroom. While the part prints, we cover support removal, sanding, surface priming, and painting techniques on PETG and PLA parts, along with real engineering case studies including EV battery pack enclosures, architectural models, and rapid tooling.

  • For schools and junior colleges, we keep the session highly visual and interactive (typically 2 to 3 hours). We simplify the CAD step so beginners can grasp 3D shapes quickly, run a live print demonstration in class, and let students inspect a wide variety of 3D printed gears, assemblies, and functional models up close.

  • Yes. For workshops across Pune, we bring our own 3D printing hardware, filament materials, and a curated kit of sample functional and display prints to your school or college campus—all we need from your venue is a projector/screen and a power point.

  • Yes, all participants receive a Workshop Completion Certificate from Engineer's Cubicle, which engineering and school students can include in their academic portfolios.

  • Simply message us on WhatsApp at +91 97661 13300 or email engineerscubicle@gmail.com with your institution name, student grade/year, approximate batch size, and preferred dates. We'll share a tailored session plan and commercial proposal right away.
